Women Who Inspire Me

Today I've found myself in need of some major female inspiration to make it through Friday. Here is what revved me up:

Started with a few songs...

Shake It Out - Florence + The Machine
Superwoman - Alicia Keys
I Dreamed a Dream - Glee Cast
Don't Forget Me - SMASH cast (season finale song)
Video - India.Arie

A powerful article Elle Magazine, Dreaming of Hillary:

Hilary at a black tie event talks about her peacemaking solution to Africa’s recent conflicts since 90 percent of casualties are civilians. She says:

Women’s complex community ties make them invested in the well-being of many groups and more likely to raise issues that truly influence quality of life and maintain peace: education, health, justice, employment... Since they’re usually not doing actual fighting, they can serve as mediators and mobilize other noncombatants to pressure soldiers to lay down their arms. “Women are the largest untapped reservoir of talent in the world,” she says. “It is past time for women to take their rightful place, side by side with men, in the rooms where the fates of peoples, where their children’s and grandchildren’s fates, are decided.”

I found this quote from Eleanor Roosvelt to be very true...

Inspiration at work, Bare Escentuals

I have the honor of having Bare Escentuals as a client. The company's pink offices in San Francisco might look like Barbie's dream office but it is run by smart women who work extremely hard, don't airbrush the models in their ads and have a strong brand voice. Their energy is contagious and inspires me everyday.
